What a great time I had at American Freedom Lodge. I went on the 2012 deer hunt. I had heard about this place through a good friend and this year we went together. It was much more than I expected it to be. Everyone treated you like you a part of their family.
I saw a lot of deer.  I didn’t harvest a deer during my trip, but I I gained a lot of new friends.  I would like to share two moments with you.
I was in a stand with Kevin Rodeniser.  We were having a great time when two Button Bucks walked in front of the stand.  We watched them play and eat for 45 minutes.  It was a very cool experience and those two button bucks never realized that one of them was only a “text message from death”.
The other moment was with Dick Gorney.  We were watching deer in the morning and had a huge bodied 4 pointer walk in front of us, but I decided to let it get better.  Then, a big doe came by and an arrow went down range.  I hit the deer and could not find her– the “blood trail stopped”.
I have definitely become a part of the America Freedom Lodge forever.  There nothing in this world compares to the generosity of the American Freedom Lodge.  I wish that there were more hunts for all Veterans and I wish that every Veteran could experience this.
